Soft Serve Ice Cream Machine

Place white silicone sleeve onto back of auger, slide auger in front cylinder & twist until it seats Put front face plate onto posts - make sure rubber gasket is on - and screw on knobs (make sure the knobs are snug to get a good seal, but don’t overtighten) Snap in bottom drip tray Put anti siphon valve in top (ridges down into hole)

Mix ice cream powder according to directions on package, and pour mixture into top hopper of the machine Turn machine on with toggle switch, press “auto” button Check Settings Ice cream “hardness” (7-8 is usually good)  You can change the hardness in settings, but if the hardness is set too high, it can freeze the ice cream in the cylinder and trip the breaker; if this happens, simply turn the machine off and back on, and then readjust the hardness level The percentage is not accurate--it will fluctuate numbers, but when it gets to 100% you’ll know the ice cream is hardened and ready  Try to space out servings 30-60 seconds to keep ice cream at the right consistency; if you do too many servings in a row it will start to get too melty and you’ll have to wait for the machine to catch up Serve ice cream (will take a little while for ice cream to harden and be ready to serve; the colder your mixture is to begin with, the faster it will harden) Pull down lever to dispense ice cream, lift lever back up when done If the ice cream is hard to pump/dispense, check the top hopper to see if you need to refill it; if it’s still full, the ice cream might be frozen in the cylinder - push the “dethaw” button and wait for a bit If you want to take a break from dispensing ice cream but want to keep the mixture in the top hopper cold, press the “fresh” button

Empty the hopper by dispensing any extra ice cream (can save extra in a tupperware in the freezer) Press “stop” button (change from Auto) Pour in a pitcher of plain hot water into the top of the machine (no soap needed) Click “wash” function Scrub out top hopper with scrub brush Pull down lever to dispense water (will be mixed with extra ice cream bits) - keep lever down until all the water comes through, then press “off” button Repeat this process several times (pour in hot water, press “wash” button, dispense hot water, press “off”) until the water comes out clear Disassemble the machine, wipe down machine & parts with rag/paper towel, put all the parts into the white bucket PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL ARE RETURNED Auger Face Plate Gasket Knobs Pin Drip Tray Lid Extension Cord Dolly

*ALWAYS TRANSPORT MACHINE IN UPRIGHT POSITION - DON’T EVER LAY ON ITS SIDE To keep from tripping a breaker, make sure the machine is plugged into its own circuit. (Multiple outlets can be on the same circuit, so just make sure it’s not plugged into a circuit that’s also running a refrigerator, microwave, etc - anything that draws a lot of electricity) Use ice cold water when mixing the ice cream mix to speed up chilling time. (Or mix ahead of time & store in the fridge.) Try to keep the machine indoors or in the shade for best results. Make sure there’s plenty of airflow around the machine (don’t have it right next to a wall). Try to space out servings 30-60 seconds to keep ice cream flowing at the right consistency. (If you do too many servings in a row it will start to get melty and you’ll have to wait for the machine to catch up.) Seems self explanatory, but make sure to lift the lever back up when you’re done dispensing the ice cream (don’t leave it down, or the ice cream will keep flowing). ;)

Machine keeps turning off / tripping the breaker: Make sure the machine is plugged into its own circuit. If the machine has been running great and then trips the breaker, the ice cream might have frozen in the cylinder. Turn the machine off and back on, and wait for a little bit for it to thaw. Ice Cream is coming out really runny: Make sure you give time for the machine to chill and harden the ice cream when you first pour the mixture in. (The colder the mixture is when you pour it in, the faster it will freeze.) When dispensing ice cream, try to space out servings 30-60 seconds to give the machine time to keep up. (If you do too many servings right after another, the ice cream will get really melty and will need a few minutes to catch up.) The machine is making a loud squeaky noise: It is probably running out of ice cream mix. Check the top hopper and pour more mixture in. The ice cream is coming out really slow or not at all: If the ice cream is hard to pump/dispense, check the top hopper to see if you need to refill it; if it’s still full, the ice cream might be frozen in the cylinder. Push the “dethaw” button and wait for a bit. Turn down the hardness level.
