Cotton Candy Machine

Attach the net around the outside of the bowl with the clips. Plug in the machine and turn the temperature gauge all the way up. Warm up for 5-6 minutes. Carefully pour sugar floss directly from the container box into the spinning head. (until about half full) Once the cotton candy starts to spool out, turn down the temperature, and use a cone to start collecting the floss. (spin the cone in a circular motion around the outside of the bowl) Continue to pour in sugar floss as needed.

Flush the spinning head while still running — with the machine on and the bowl in place, pour a small amount of clean water directly into the spinning head. The centrifugal force will fling the water outward, rinsing sugar residue off the interior of the head and bowl. This is the most important step and prevents the spinning head from clogging between uses. Turn off and unplug the machine. Wait for the spinning head to fully stop and for the machine to cool completely — at least 30 minutes — before handling. Remove the stainless steel bowl using the locking clip. Wash it with warm, soapy water. For stubborn sugar residue, soak in hot water before scrubbing. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reattaching. Wipe down the exterior of the machine body with a clean damp cloth. Do not use abrasive materials.

Not producing floss / sugar not spinning out: The most common causes: Not preheated long enough: always preheat for 5–6 minutes at highest temperature before adding sugar. Not enough sugar: add a full scoop (about 15g) to the center of the head; too little won't produce good floss. Clogged spinning head: the tiny holes are blocked with residue. Deep clean the head. Temperature too low: increase voltage to raise the temperature. Different sugar types require different temps, so experiment. Start with a half-teaspoon test batch before committing a full scoop. Sugar burning or smoking: Temperature is likely set too high for the sugar type being used. Reduce the voltage to lower heat. Also check that the spinning head is clean — residue buildup on the heating element will burn during operation and cause smoking. Clean the head thoroughly before the next use. Do not add toppings or seasoning directly into the spinning head. Sugar flying out in globs instead of fine floss: This is a classic sign of a partially clogged spinning head — some holes are blocked, so sugar exits unevenly in larger blobs rather than fine threads. Deep clean the head, paying special attention to the small holes around the lid. Also check that sugar is being added to the center of the head evenly, and that hard candy pieces (if using) are spaced evenly so they melt uniformly. Cotton candy is grainy or rough instead of fluffy: The machine likely wasn't preheated long enough, or the temperature is too low for the sugar type. Let the machine heat fully (5–6 minutes at highest setting) before adding sugar. Try increasing the voltage slightly. Also make sure you're using the correct sugar — traditional flossing sugar works best. Hard candy and fruit cubes require higher temperatures to melt properly. Machine shaking or vibrating excessively: Check that the machine is on a stable, flat surface and that the non-slip feet are fully contacting the surface. Make sure the stainless steel bowl is properly locked into place with the locking clip — a loose bowl is a common source of vibration. If vibration continues after securing all parts, inspect that the spinning head is balanced and correctly seated on its mount. Motor overheating / machine shutting off mid-use: This machine has an 80% duty cycle — it is designed for 1-hour continuous operation, after which it needs a 20-minute rest before running again. Exceeding this causes the motor to overheat and cut off. Allow the machine to cool for at least 20 minutes before restarting. Running continuously beyond the rated cycle significantly shortens motor life.
